Height: 152 Centimeters (Centimetres cm) with weight: 36 Kilograms (Kilos kg)

## Health problems from being overweight

*These difficulties are associated with obese and overweight adults*

Adults with a BMI greater than 25 (

*overweight*) or a BMI of more than 30 (

*obese*) have a marked increase in risk for various diseases and health conditions, including,:

## BMI Prime

Devised in way back in 1830, the BMI is used to as a way of measuring a person's body shape. Put simply, it is calculated by dividing the body's weight by the square of their height. Eg: Kilograms: weight, divided by Metres (Meters): height.
b m i Prime is a variation of the Quetelet index. Put simply, if you have a Prime of less than 0.74, you are underweight. If your prime is more than 0.74 and less than 1.00, your weight is ideal. If your bmi prime is more than 1 you are down as being overweight.
## Do the sums

Behind BMI

- BMI = weight(kilograms) / height
^{2} (metres^{2}) (Metric Units)
- BMI = 703 . weight(pounds) / height
^{2} (inches^{2}) (Imperial Units)

## BMI limitations

BMI is proportional to the mass and inversely proportional to the square of the height. So, if all body dimensions double, and mass scales naturally with the cube of the height, then BMI doubles instead of remaining the same. This results in taller people having a reported BMI that is uncharacteristically high, compared to their actual body fat levels.
